Welcome to the CIM Online Financial Aid Portal! This site is where you may:
- View the list of Financial Aid documents we need from you, including the current receipt status of each (updated daily, M-F)
- View your Financial Aid offer, if admitted
- Accept and/or decline your CIM Financial Aid offer
- Print documents needed for your file
Information in this system only pertains to your CIM Financial Aid file and NOT your CIM Admission file. Please see the CIM Financial Aid website for more details.
Your CIM NetPartner Student ID is a unique letter/number combination issued from the CIM Financial Aid Office and is NOT your email. The format will be either A12345 or A12345678. Most applicants for the 2019-20 year were emailed their NetPartner Student ID on December 18.
The Forgot your Student ID link to the right will only work for students with a U.S. Social Security Number.
Supported browsers for NetPartner include:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 8
- Internet Explorer 9 (in a Windows 7 environment only)
- Firefox 12.0
- Google Chrome 18.0
Equal Opportunity Policy
In the administration of its educational and admission policies, scholarship, loan, and other school-administered programs, the Cleveland Institute of Music is committed to nondiscrimination and equal opportunity. The Institute admits students to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, citizenship, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, or disability.
Login Instructions & Troubleshooting
To access this system, enter your Student ID, as communicated to you by the CIM Financial Aid Office. If you are logging in for the first time ever, click "First Time User" and you will need to activate the account with the Student ID we provide and set your own Password.
Once you have logged in and created your Password, from then on you will use the normal login box. If you forget your Password, the link for "Forgot your Password?" will verify you with the security questions you set up.
Due to mandatory software security enhancements, students will be required to update their NetPartner passwords every 60 days. A reminder will display 7 days prior to expiration date. New passwords must include the following mandatory requirements:
- Upper and lower case
- Special Characters !@#$%^&*()
- Minimum number of characters = 9
Users will be locked out after 3 failed login attempts, so be sure your security questions are set to answers you know, should you need to reset your password. If locked out, you will need to contact the CIM Financial Aid Office to have the account unlocked via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
LOGIN TROUBLESHOOTING / ERROR MESSAGES:
If you are a current/previous CIM student applying for a new program, use the main login box with your current Password - do not try to login via the "First time user" link. You are not a first time user.
"Validation error" occurs if you enter your birth date in the wrong date format, or either the birth date or instrument / voice type entered do not match the data you provided on your application for admission. The birth date must be keyed in with the MM/DD/YY format - you must include the slashes. If you are a double major, try entering your other major.
"Error code IA" This error often happens if there is an extra blank space either before or after the Student ID. Make sure there is no extra space, as that is seen as an extra character that will make the Student ID appear to be wrong. This error will also occur if you already have an active account and attempt to login as a "First time user." Instead, try to login with the Student ID and Password you already have in the main login box. If you forgot your Password, click on "Forgot your Password?" and it will verify you with the security questions you previously set up when you created your Password.
- Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after the Student ID when trying to log in - such spaces will appear to be part of the Student ID and be wrong.
- Try a different browser.
Still no luck? If the above suggestions didn't fix your problem, email email@example.com with your birth date and instrument / voice type so we may verify we have the correct data and validate you that way. A temporary Password will be issued. You would then be prompted to create a new Password once logged in.
